An 11-year-old girl was hit by a car at an Yishun carpark on Thursday (Oct 7) at about 1.15pm.

In an Instagram post by sgfollowsall on Thursday night, a netizen described how the primary school student was allegedly jaywalking during the busy after-school traffic.

She attempted to move after being hit, but was unable to do so due to the "intense pain", wrote the netizen, adding that an ambulance was called to the scene.

The video posted alongside the post shows a group of Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel attending to what appears to be the girl lying on the road.

One of those surrounding her holds up a purple umbrella as some bystanders can be seen in conversation nearby.

A silver car is also seen behind them, with a blue car on their left and an ambulance on their right, seemingly blocking off the road as the girl is being attended to.

The video has amassed over 36,000 views on Instagram and more than 400 comments.

In response to AsiaOne's queries, the police and SCDF said they were alerted to an accident involving a car and a pedestrian along Block 813A Yishun Ring Road on Oct 7 at about 1.15pm.

A 11-year-old girl was taken to KK Women's and Children's Hospital, according to the police and SCDF.

The police added that a 62-year-old man, believed to be the driver, is assisting with ongoing investigations.
