A 16-year-old boy suspected of murdering his classmate, Irene Sofiya Mohd Khairool Faisal, has had his remand extended by six days, as ruled by Magistrate Aimi Nawwar Mohamad Othman.
The incident occurred at a school in Yong Peng where Irene was found unconscious and covered in blood, leading to her subsequent death.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, with the victim having been laid to rest following a post-mortem examination.
BATU PAHAT, Oct 9 — The remand of a 16-year-old boy suspected of murdering a female student at a school in Yong Peng has been extended by six days, from tomorrow until Oct 15.
The extension was granted by Magistrate Aimi Nawwar Mohamad Othman at the Magistrate’s Court here today.
The teenager had previously been remanded for six days from Oct 4 to assist in the investigation into the death of Irene Sofiya Mohd Khairool Faisal, 16.
The Form Four student, who was the suspect’s classmate, was found unconscious and covered in blood in a school hall in Yong Peng at about 5.50pm on Oct 3. She was later pronounced dead.
Her body was sent to Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital (HSNI) for a post-mortem examination.
Police have said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
