The RM2,500 starting salary for fresh graduates in public service, announced in Budget 2027, is pending an official implementation circular.

Detailed procedures and timeline for the salary initiative will be outlined in the official circular, which will also clarify if allowances are included.

The initiative requires significant financial allocation and careful planning to ensure it benefits a large number of recipients systematically.

KUALA KANGSAR, Oct 14 — The implementation of the RM2,500 starting salary for fresh graduates entering the public service, announced in Budget 2027, is pending an official circular outlining the implementation details.

Malaysian Public Services Commission (SPA) chairman and Judicial and Legal Service Commission (SPKP) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus said the details would include the implementation timeline and related payment components.

“We welcome the announcement made in the Budget, but its implementation will have to follow the procedures stipulated in the circular.

“More detailed procedures are needed, including how the initiative will be implemented and its timeline,” he told reporters after officiating at the handover of assets under the SPA Madani Adopted School programme at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Simpang Beluru here today.

He said preparations for implementing initiatives announced in the budget usually began in the year of the announcement to enable implementation the following year.

Asked whether the RM2,500 amount included other allowances, Ahmad Jailani said the matter would be reviewed and clarified in the official circular.

He said detailed consideration was necessary as the initiative involved a substantial financial allocation and a large number of beneficiaries.

“This matter must be handled carefully and systematically. I am confident that the relevant parties have done their work and that the matter can be resolved satisfactorily,” he said. — Bernama
