Avoid areas in Serangoon, Bartley due to risk of flash floods: PUB

SINGAPORE – National water agency PUB on the morning of Oct 15 advised the public to avoid parts of Serangoon and Bartley due to the risk of flash floods from heavy rain.

PUB, in an alert on its X account at 7.48am, advised people to avoid Lorong Gambir (from Lorong Penchalak to Gambir Walk) from 7.48am to 8.48am.

At 7.51am, it also urged the public to avoid the service road off Upper Paya Lebar Road (near Lim Teck Boo Road) for the next hour.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) said at about 8am that thundery showers were expected over many areas in the morning.

NEA earlier said that moderate to heavy thundery showers with gusty winds were expected over southern, eastern and western areas of Singapore between 7.50am and 8.50am.

公用事业局 (PUB) 于早上 7 点 48 分在其 X 账号上发布警报，建议人们在早上 7 点 48 分至 8 点 48 分期间避开甘比尔巷 (从彭查拉克巷到甘比尔步道)。

上午 7 点 51 分，当局还敦促公众在接下来的一个小时内避开 Upper Paya Lebar Road（靠近 Lim Teck Boo Road）的辅路。

国家环境局（NEA）早上8点左右表示，预计上午许多地区将有雷阵雨。

新加坡国家环境局早前表示，预计上午 7 点 50 分至 8 点 50 分，新加坡南部、东部和西部地区将出现中到大雷阵雨，并伴有阵风。
