Selangor has introduced Selangor Advance 500 (SA500), a financing initiative aimed at easing cash flow challenges for businesses engaged in state projects, and the NINE Super App, designed to consolidate government services and transactions onto a single digital platform.

These initiatives demonstrate the state government's commitment to fostering business growth and enhancing public access to digital services.

Emphasizing support for SMEs, SA500 offers Shariah-compliant financial solutions, while the NINE Super App simplifies access to government assistance and everyday transactions.

Together, they aim to build a more inclusive digital society and a robust business environment in Selangor.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — Selangor today launched a financing initiative for businesses facing cash flow constraints alongside a super app intended to bring government services, payments and mobility options onto a single digital platform.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said Selangor Advance 500 (SA500) would help eligible companies and contractors undertaking state-related projects manage their cash flow, while the NINE Super App would make government services and everyday transactions more accessible to the public.

Amirudin said the initiatives reflected the state government's commitment to supporting business growth and ensuring more people could benefit from the digital economy.

“In line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s emphasis on the vital role of SMEs in Malaysia’s economy, the Selangor state government is committed to strengthening support for these businesses, enabling them to grow further and compete with companies across Southeast Asia,” he said on Facebook.

Amirudin said access to financing remained a challenge for many businesses, with SA500 intended to ease cash flow pressures and help eligible companies sustain their operations.

According to Selangor Advance's official website, the financing programme provides Shariah-compliant facilities to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), including contractors and suppliers serving government agencies, government-linked companies and eligible private companies.

The facilities include invoice financing, working capital financing, performance bonds and other financial support for different stages of a business or project.

According to Selangor Advance's published terms, the programme offers financing facilities to eligible businesses to help them manage cash flow, including by obtaining early payment for outstanding invoices, subject to its terms and conditions.

Amirudin said the second initiative, NINE, was intended to simplify access to public services by consolidating them within one application.

“The NINE Super App brings government services, assistance, payments and mobility into one platform, making everyday transactions simpler for the rakyat,” he said.

The app already offers an electronic wallet, digital parking payments and access to other services, including bill payments and transport-related transactions. Further integration of Selangor government services is planned as the platform develops.

The initiative is also intended to reduce the need for residents to use multiple applications to deal with different state agencies and local authorities.

Amirudin said the two initiatives would complement each other by strengthening the business community while improving access to public services.

“Together, SA500 and NINE advance the State Government’s vision of a more inclusive digital society and a stronger business community.

“By improving access to financing and public services, we are creating more opportunities for Selangor’s businesses and people to thrive,” he said.
