Man, 51, found dead at 2nd-floor staircase landing of Yishun HDB block

A 51-year-old man was found dead at the second-floor staircase landing of an HDB block in Yishun on Thursday (Oct 15) morning.

The incident happened at about 9.25am at Block 703 Yishun Avenue 5.

When AsiaOne reached the scene at about 10.30am, there were at least two police fast response cars and a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) light fire attack vehicle present at the scene.

AsiaOne noticed that the block's layout features an extended common area off its second-floor staircase landing, possibly explaining why the man was not found on the ground floor.

SCDF told AsiaOne that its paramedic pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The police confirmed in a statement to AsiaOne that the 51-year-old man had fallen from height.

They added that preliminary findings do not suggest any foul play, adding that police investigations are ongoing.
