Foreign-registered vehicles with outstanding fines will not be able to apply for or renew their Vehicle Entry Permits (VEP) from Nov 2.

In a Facebook post on Friday (Oct 16), the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said the restriction applies to all foreign-registered vehicles with outstanding fines seeking to apply for or renew a VEP with the Land Transport Authority (LTA).

All foreign-registered vehicles must have a valid VEP to enter Singapore.

Vehicles without a valid VEP will be turned back to Malaysia.

Motorists are advised to apply for a VEP at least two weeks before travelling to Singapore if they do not already have a valid permit.

They should also check for and settle any outstanding fines before their trip, as payments may take up to two calendar days to be processed and reflected in the systems of the relevant agencies.

Motorists can check for outstanding fines through AXS before travelling to Singapore .
