The Dewan Rakyat will discuss aid for M40 households, MADANI programmes' funds, and the Tourism Compliance Focus Zone's effectiveness today.

Questions include reassessing aid for M40 households, transparency in MADANI programmes' spending, and evaluating the ZTPP's performance in addressing pricing complaints.

The sitting also covers the National Women's Policy, social media age limits, and will debate Budget 2027, with debates from October 12 to 22 and related sessions until December 8.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — Aid for M40 households, allocations for the Madani school and Kampung Angkat programmes, and the effectiveness of the Tourism Compliance Focus Zone (ZTPP) programme are among the issues scheduled to be raised at the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.

According to the Order Paper on the Parliament website, Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan (BN-Kuala Pilah) will ask the Finance Minister to explain measures to help M40 households no longer eligible for targeted aid but affected by rising living costs, including a mechanism to reassess eligibility based on current income and expenditure.

Datuk Dr Richard Rapu @ Aman anak Begri (GPS-Betong) will ask the Finance Minister to explain the detailed breakdown of the RM50 million and RM200 million spent on the Madani School and Kampung Angkat programmes, to ensure transparency over the financial impact and the actual number of beneficiaries under the People's Housing Programme (PPR).

Another question is from Hassan Saad (PN-Baling), who will ask the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister to state the performance indicators used to assess the effectiveness of the ZTPP programme in reducing complaints of excessive pricing.

Also listed is a question from Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah (PN-Indera Mahkota) on the status of implementation of the National Women's Policy 2025-2030 to date.

Meanwhile, Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen (PH-Bandar Kuching) asked the Communications Minister whether the ministry plans to extend the social media age limit to online gaming platforms, particularly those with large numbers of child and teenage users.

After the question-and-answer session, the House is scheduled to continue with debate on the Supply Bill 2027 at the policy stage, following the presentation of Budget 2027 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also Finance Minister, on Oct 9.

The calendar for the Third Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament states that the Budget 2027 debate at the policy stage is from Oct 12 to 22, followed by winding-up sessions by the relevant ministers over four days from Oct 26.

The Dewan Rakyat sitting runs for 37 days until December 8. — Bernama
