As of October 18, 38,659 commercial vehicles in Sabah have registered under the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS).

Across Malaysia, 514,111 commercial vehicles are registered under SKDS, while 44,883 vehicles nationally are under the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS).

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living manages fuel subsidies to ensure they benefit public transport and essential goods vehicles nationwide.

KOTA KINABALU, Oct 19 — A total of 38,659 commercial vehicles belonging to 17,703 companies in Sabah have registered under the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) as of yesterday, said Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali

He said the registrations comprised 27,655 vehicles transporting essential goods, 8,773 company-owned vehicles, including jeeps and pick-up trucks, and 2,231 public land transport vehicles.

“Nationwide, 514,111 commercial vehicles belonging to 205,167 companies had registered under SKDS as of October 18,” he said in a statement after visiting Pulau Banggi in Kudat today.

Armizan said 1,408 vehicles belonging to 995 companies in Sabah had also registered under the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS).

These comprised 788 public land transport vehicles and 620 vehicles transporting essential goods. Separately, one registration was recorded for the water public transport sector in Sabah.

At the national level, 44,883 vehicles belonging to 24,204 companies had registered under SKPS.

Armizan said the ministry (KPDN) oversees fuel subsidy distribution to eligible commercial vehicles through SKDS and SKPS to ensure assistance is channelled to the intended sectors.

The schemes cover public land transport, vehicles transporting essential goods and eligible privately owned business vehicles operated by micro and small enterprises. — Bernama
