Kelantan police arrest man over alleged indecent act involving cat

A man in Kelantan was arrested for allegedly committing an indecent act with a cat, as seen in a viral video.

The case is being investigated under Section 377 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.

Police advise the public against speculating, spreading unverified information, or sharing the video to respect public sensitivities.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — A man has been arrested in Kelantan to assist investigations into a viral video allegedly showing him committing an indecent act involving a cat at his home.

Pasir Puteh district police chief Superintendent Saari Yaacob said police received a report on October 18 after the video circulated on social media platform Threads.

He said police subsequently arrested a man to assist with further investigations, with the case being investigated under Section 377 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

In a statement issued today, Saari said police were treating the matter seriously and conducting a thorough investigation to establish the facts and complete their probe in accordance with the law.

He urged the public not to speculate, spread allegations or share unverified information that could jeopardise the investigation.

The public was also advised against recirculating the video out of respect for public sensitivities and to prevent the spread of inappropriate content.
