A 26-year-old woman died after falling from a height at a multi-storey carpark in Yishun on Thursday (Oct 15).

In a video shared on Facebook on Sunday (Oct 18), a woman can be seen standing on the ledge of a carpark as emergency personnel attend to the situation from above.

She appears to cling to the ledge before falling onto the safety life air pack deployed below.

According to the poster, the woman was believed to be a domestic helper who had left her employer's flat and made her way to the multi-storey carpark, before being spotted by nearby residents who reportedly alerted the police.

In response to queries from AsiaOne, the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they received a call for assistance at Block 431 Yishun Avenue 1 at about 1.35pm.

SCDF said its responders found a person standing on a ledge upon arrival and deployed a safety life air pack at the scene.

However, she fell to the ground.

Police said she was taken unconscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where she subsequently died.

Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.

Police investigations are ongoing.
