Johor-Singapore RTS Link fares expected by year-end, says Malaysian transport minister

KUALA LUMPUR — Fares for the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link are expected to be announced by the end of this year, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said.

The announcement will be made ahead of the service’s planned opening in February next year.

“The announcement would be made jointly with RTS Operations (RTSO), as the project was a bilateral initiative between Malaysia and Singapore.

“I cannot make any unilateral announcement because it is a bilateral project,” Loke told a press conference at the Transport Exhibition (TXA) here today.

He said the fare announcement would be made before the service begins operating to give the public sufficient time to familiarise themselves with the ticket prices.

In a joint statement made on Oct 2, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore and the Malaysian Transport Ministry said they had been informed by RTS Operations Pte Ltd (RTSO) of the revised timeline.

The service was previously expected to commence in January. The new target is subject to RTSO obtaining independent safety certification for the RTS Link and securing final regulatory approvals.

他表示，票价信息将在服务开始运营前公布，以便公众有足够的时间了解票价。

新加坡陆路交通管理局和马来西亚交通部于 10 月 2 日发表联合声明称，他们已收到 RTS Operations Pte Ltd (RTSO) 的通知，告知了修订后的时间表。

该服务原计划于1月份开通。新的目标日期取决于RTSO能否获得RTS Link的独立安全认证以及最终的监管批准。
