SEOUL, Oct. 22 (Yonhap) -- Samsung E&A Co.on Thursday reported a third-quarter net profit of 216.7 billion won (US$163.2 million), up 37.7 percent from a year earlier.
The engineering and construction arm of South Korean conglomerate Samsung Group said in a regulatory filing that operating profit for the July-September period rose 183.6 percent on-year to 500.6 billion won. Sales increased 45.8 percent to 2.91 trillion won.
The earnings beat market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts stood at 206.4 billion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. (END)
