Melaka polls: PKR’s seven new faces must earn voters’ trust, says Adam Adli

MELAKA, Oct 25 — Melaka PKR is fielding seven new faces among its nine candidates for next month’s state election, as the party seeks to strengthen support for its reform agenda at the state level.

State party acting chairman Adam Adli Abd Halim said PKR needs to work hard to convince voters of the principles and reform agenda it was pursuing at the federal level and ensure they gain acceptance in Melaka.

“Winning the seats contested depends not only on the candidates’ names or personal appeal, but also on their relationships with the community, the strength of their campaign machinery and the agenda they offer.

“Everyone contests an election to win, but candidates must ensure their messages are conveyed effectively to the people throughout the campaign period, while making the interests of the community and voters their top priority,” he told reporters here today.

He was speaking after officiating at the Madani Kita programme with the Ayer Keroh community at Hang Tuah Jaya, held at the Sungai Putat People’s Housing Project (PPR) multipurpose hall in Batu Berendam.

Adam Adli, who is also a member of the party’s Central Leadership Council, said PKR candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to good governance and uphold high standards of conduct and personal integrity when engaging with the community.

Last night, Prime Minister and Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the coalition’s 21 candidates for the state election, comprising nine from PKR, seven from DAP and five from Amanah.

The seven new faces fielded by PKR are Mohd Yunazri Mustamiri in Tanjung Bidara, Mohd Khuzairie Mohd Kamal Kannan in Rembia, P Denesh in Asahan, Datuk Azman Abidin in Paya Rumput, Muhammad Hakimin Mokhtar in Ayer Molek, Esma Eazreen Husin in Rim and Muhammad Faiq Azman in Serkam.

The two candidates with previous election experience are Farzana Hayani Mohd Nasir in Kelebang and Datuk Ginie Lim Siew Lin in Machap Jaya. — Bernama

州党代理主席亚当·阿德利·阿卜杜勒·哈利姆表示，人民公正党需要努力说服选民相信该党在联邦层面推行的原则和改革议程，并确保这些原则和议程在马六甲得到认可。

“赢得竞选席位不仅取决于候选人的名气或个人魅力，还取决于他们与社区的关系、竞选机器的实力以及他们提出的纲领。

“每个人参加选举都是为了赢得胜利，但候选人必须确保在整个竞选期间有效地将他们的信息传达给人民，同时将社区和选民的利益放在首位，”他今天在这里对记者说。

他是在与汉都亚再也 (Hang Tuah Jaya) 的爱极乐社区 (Ayer Keroh) 主持在峇都伯伦丹 (Batu Berendam) 的双溪布达人民房屋计划 (PPR) 多功能厅举行的 Madani Kita 计划后发表上述言论。

公正党派出的七名新面孔分别是丹绒比达拉的Mohd Yunazri Mustamiri、伦比亚的Mohd Khuzairie Mohd Kamal Kannan、阿萨汉的P Denesh、巴耶隆普的拿督阿兹曼阿比丁、亚逸莫力的穆罕默德哈基明莫赫塔尔、里姆的埃斯玛·埃兹林·胡辛和瑟卡姆的穆罕默德·法伊克·阿兹曼。
