In a weather warning issued at 5.4pm, the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said that moderate to heavy thundery showers with gusty winds are expected between 6.10pm and 7.10pm.
Checks of the service’s weather radar at 6pm showed moderate to heavy rain clouds over the southern region. Rain clouds were also observed to the south-west of Singapore.
In its daily haze situation update on Saturday evening , the National Environment Agency (NEA) said showers are forecast over Singapore and the region on Sunday.
This, along with winds forecast to turn to blow from the southeast or west, means the transport of smoke haze to Singapore could be limited, the agency added.
On the haze situation for Monday and Tuesday, NEA said: "The haze situation is likely to improve."
This, it explained, is due to the forecast of showers and prevailing winds.
At 6pm, hourly PM2.5 is in the normal band islandwide.

针对周一和周二的雾霾情况，国家环境局表示：“雾霾情况可能会有所改善。”
声明解释说，这是由于预报有阵雨和盛行风向所致。
下午 6 点，全岛每小时 PM2.5 值均处于正常范围内。
