Bukit Aman seizes RM765,750 in unregistered health products, suspected counterfeit goods in KL raid

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 —The Wildlife Crime Bureau/Special Investigation Intelligence (WCB/PSK) unit of Bukit Aman’s Internal Security and Public Order Department seized unregistered health and cosmetic products alongside suspected counterfeit branded goods worth RM765,750 during a raid on a courier company’s premises here this morning.

WCB/PSK commander Datuk Mohd Zaki Ashar said the 10.50 am raid was carried out jointly with the Health Ministry’s (MOH) Pharmacy Enforcement Division and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).

He said the integrated operation resulted in the seizure of 9,257 units of health products, cosmetics, and branded goods suspected of violating statutory regulations.

“The courier and logistics company’s premises was suspected of being used as a storage and distribution hub for health products, cosmetics, and branded goods believed not to comply with legal requirements.

“Two foreign men, aged 23 and 29, believed to be working as packers at the premises, were also detained on suspicion of committing immigration offences,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Mohd Zaki said further inspection uncovered 9,130 units of various brands of health and cosmetic products suspected of not being registered with MOH, as well as 127 branded items suspected of bearing counterfeit trademarks.

“Of the total seizure, the health and cosmetic products, valued at an estimated RM734,000, were acted upon by MOH’s Pharmacy Enforcement Division, while the suspected counterfeit goods, valued at RM31,750, were seized by KPDN.

“The case is being investigated under Regulation 7(1)(a) and Regulation 18A of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984, as well as Section 102 of the Trademarks Act 2019, while the two foreign nationals are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63,” he said.

Mohd Zaki added that from Jan 1 to date, the unit has conducted 286 raids nationwide and arrested 467 individuals for various offences involving the smuggling of contraband, leakages of controlled and subsidised goods, wildlife trafficking, and operations related to electronic waste (e-waste).

吉隆坡，10月27日讯——武吉阿曼警察总部内部安全及公共秩序部门野生动物犯罪局/特别调查情报组（WCB/PSK）今早突击搜查了一家快递公司的办公场所，查获了价值765,750令吉的未注册保健品、化妆品以及疑似假冒品牌商品。

WCB/PSK 指挥官拿督莫哈末·扎基·阿沙尔表示，上午 10 点 50 分的突击行动是与卫生部 (MOH) 药房执法部门和国内贸易及生活成本部 (KPDN) 联合进行的。

他表示，此次联合行动查获了9257件涉嫌违反法律法规的保健品、化妆品和品牌商品。

“这家快递物流公司的场所被怀疑用作保健品、化妆品和品牌商品的存储和配送中心，这些商品被认为不符合法律要求。

他在昨天的一份声明中说：“两名年龄分别为 23 岁和 29 岁的外国男子，据信在该场所担任包装工，也因涉嫌违反移民法而被拘留。”

莫哈末扎基表示，进一步检查发现有9130件不同品牌的保健品和化妆品涉嫌未在卫生部注册，还有127件品牌商品涉嫌使用假冒商标。

“在查获的全部物品中，价值约 734,000 令吉的保健品和化妆品由卫生部药剂执法部门处理，而价值 31,750 令吉的疑似假冒商品则由 KPDN 查获。

“本案正在根据 1984 年《药品和化妆品管制条例》第 7(1)(a) 条和第 18A 条以及 2019 年《商标法》第 102 条进行调查，而两名外国公民则正在根据 1959/63 年《移民法》第 6(1)(c) 条进行调查，”他说。

莫哈末·扎基补充说，从 1 月 1 日至今，该部门已在全国范围内进行了 286 次突击行动，逮捕了 467 人，罪名包括走私违禁品、泄漏管制和补贴商品、野生动物贩运以及与电子垃圾（电子废物）相关的行动。
