Housing Ministry: Check Teduh to check project, developer information before buying property

Prospective homebuyers are encouraged to use the TEDUH portal to check housing project details and developer credentials to avoid future issues.

The Ministry of Housing and Local Government developed TEDUH to provide a comprehensive platform for checking project status, licence verification, and filing complaints.

As one of the largest financial commitments, buyers are advised to use TEDUH for informed decisions, with the portal recording over 45 million visits since its 2017 launch.

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 7 — The public, particularly prospective homebuyers, are encouraged to check information on developers and housing projects through the TEDUH portal and mobile application before making a purchase decision to reduce the risk of encountering problems later.

The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) said TEDUH, developed by the National Housing Department (JPN), is a one-stop platform providing access to information such as developers’ licence status, advertising permit and developer’s licence (APDL), project progress and information related to private housing projects.

“Through the #TEDUHBersama campaign, the ministry aims to cultivate the practice of ‘check before you buy’ among the public, particularly prospective homebuyers, as an initial step to reduce the risk of dealing with unlicensed developers or making purchase decisions without knowing the actual status of a project,” the ministry said in a statement.

It added that the portal also provides facilities to check the status of private housing projects, including projects categorised as delayed, troubled or abandoned, as well as approved selling prices.

Users can also check certain approvals issued by the government, including extensions of time (EOT), verify the authenticity of related documents and submit housing development complaints to JPN for review and further action.

JPN director-general Dr Tan Awang Besar, in the same statement, said the public was advised to conduct checks before purchasing a house as it was one of the biggest financial commitments in a person’s life.

“This simple step is important to help buyers obtain accurate information, make decisions with greater confidence and reduce the risk of encountering problems later,” he said.

TEDUH was launched on Aug 11, 2017, and has since been progressively enhanced as a more comprehensive, transparent and user-friendly housing reference platform.

According to KPKT, the TEDUH portal recorded more than 45 million visitors in total as of August.

用户还可以查看政府颁发的某些批准文件，包括延期（EOT），验证相关文件的真实性，并向 JPN 提交住房开发投诉，以便进行审查和进一步处理。

国家购房局局长陈阿旺博士在同一份声明中表示，建议公众在购房前进行核查，因为这是人生中最大的财务支出之一。

他说：“这一简单的步骤对于帮助买家获得准确信息、更有信心地做出决定以及降低日后遇到问题的风险至关重要。”

TEDUH 于 2017 年 8 月 11 日上线，此后不断完善，成为一个更加全面、透明和用户友好的住房参考平台。

据韩国商业、生产和消费者保护部（KPKT）统计，截至8月份，TEDUH门户网站的总访问量超过4500万人次。
