Police tracking down 10 suspects to assist in murder, gang fight in Shah Alam

Selangor police are searching for 10 men linked to separate fights in Taman Alam Megah and Taman Sri Muda, one resulting in a death on August 25.

Police raids in Shah Alam and Johor led to 21 arrests and the seizure of weapons, cars, and motorcycles, with several suspects charged in court.

The incidents are believed to involve gang-related activities, with authorities determined to prosecute all involved individuals.

SHAH ALAM, Sept 7 — Police are tracking down 10 men to assist in the investigation of two separate fight cases in Taman Alam Megah and Taman Sri Muda here last month.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said of that number, seven men are wanted to assist in the investigation of a fight in Taman Alam Megah that resulted in the death of a 23-year-old local man on Aug 25.

Meanwhile, three others are wanted in connection with a case where a man was attacked with a machete and threatened with an object resembling a firearm in Taman Sri Muda last month.

“All of the individuals involved are aged between 23 and 46, and those still at large are wanted to assist in ongoing investigations,” he said at a press conference at the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) here today.

He said following both cases, police conducted a series of raids in Shah Alam, as well as Lenga and Iskandar Puteri, Johor, between Aug 14 and 28.

As a result of the raids, police successfully arrested 21 local men aged between 23 and 46, and also seized various weapons including seven machetes, two cable cutters, nine cars, and three motorcycles.

“Out of the 21 arrested, eight male suspects have been charged in court under Sections 302 and 149 of the Penal Code, while another four men were charged under Section 148 of the same act,” he said.

He said checks also revealed that the victim who died in the Taman Alam Megah case had six past criminal records related to drug offences.

Meanwhile, Shazeli said police do not rule out the possibility that both cases are linked to elements of gangsterism, but involving different factions.

“At the early stage, we believe the case involving the death stems from a turf war, while the other resulted from a misunderstanding.

“Police will not compromise with any individuals involved in gangsterism and will ensure they are all brought to court,” he said.

On Aug 27, Shazeli confirmed that the fight incident in Taman Alam Megah involved a group of individuals resulting in the death of a man, suspected to stem from rivalry between two secret society groups.

Eight men, including two brothers who are members of a secret society group, were hauled to the Shah Alam Magistrate’s Court on Sept 4 to face murder charges.

In a separate incident on Aug 13, a local man was seriously injured after reportedly being slashed with a machete during a fight near a petrol station in Taman Sri Muda at around 11 am. — Bernama

他还表示，调查显示，在 Taman Alam Megah 案件中丧生的受害者曾有六项与毒品犯罪有关的犯罪记录。

与此同时，沙泽利表示，警方不排除这两起案件都与黑帮活动有关，但涉及不同的派系。

“初步判断，这起死亡案件源于地盘之争，而另一起案件则源于误会。”

他说：“警方绝不会向任何参与黑帮活动的人妥协，并将确保他们全部被绳之以法。”

8 月 27 日，沙泽利证实，塔曼阿拉姆梅加发生的斗殴事件涉及一群人，导致一名男子死亡，据信是由于两个秘密社团之间的敌对关系造成的。

9月4日，包括两名秘密社团成员兄弟在内的八名男子被押送至沙阿南地方法院，面临谋杀指控。

另一起事件发生在8月13日，一名当地男子在斯里慕达花园（Taman Sri Muda）一家加油站附近与人发生争执，据称被砍刀砍伤，伤势严重。事发时间约为上午11点。——马新社
