A total of 41 flights to Jakarta were cancelled due to the temporary closure of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport caused by volcanic ash.
The cancellations included 30 flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, with 20 from Terminal 1 and 10 from Terminal 2.
Additional cancellations were recorded at Penang, Subang, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu airports, but none at Kota Bharu Airport.
PUTRAJAYA, Sept 7 — A total of 41 flights to Jakarta (CGK) were cancelled at airports nationwide today following the temporary closure of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport due to volcanic ash from the Anak Krakatau eruption, according to Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB).
It said the cancellations involved flights scheduled between 6.45 am and 11.55 pm today.
“The highest number of cancellations was recorded at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), with 30 flights, comprising 20 at Terminal 1 and 10 at Terminal 2,” it said.
The airport operator said that Penang International Airport recorded seven cancellations, followed by Subang Airport with two, while Kuching International Airport and Kota Kinabalu International Airport recorded one cancellation each.
No cancellations were recorded at Kota Bharu Airport.
