ActiveSG Punggol Sport Centre soft launches, free gym entry till Oct 31

Those living, studying, or working in Punggol now have a new destination to look forward to — ActiveSG Punggol Sport Centre.

In a social media post on Wednesday (Oct 28), ActiveSG announced that the sport centre has entered its soft launch phase, inviting users to check out facilities at the sport centre, with free gym entry until Oct 31.

Under the Government's Sports Facilities Master Plan, Punggol Sport Centre is classified as a tier 2 sport facility, which means it is designed to serve the needs of a region.

It features a football stadium, swimming complex, two multi-purpose sports hall, gym, fitness studios, futsal courts, tennis courts, a water sports centre, and a national training centre for archery.

In a video posted on her social media, Senior Minister of State Sun Xueling, who is also MP for Punggol GRC, said: "This (sport centre) is definitely something that I know all Punggol residents are waiting for this year."

Construction began in 2020 and was originally scheduled to open in 2023, but was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and had its opening pushed back to this year.

Punggol Sport Centre will officially open on Nov 22.

居住、学习或工作在榜鹅的人们现在又多了一个值得期待的新去处——ActiveSG 榜鹅体育中心。

ActiveSG 于周三（10 月 28 日）在社交媒体上发帖宣布，该体育中心已进入试运营阶段，邀请用户体验体育中心的设施，并可免费使用健身房至 10 月 31 日。

根据政府的体育设施总体规划，榜鹅体育中心被列为二级体育设施，这意味着它的设计是为了满足一个地区的需求。

这里有足球场、游泳馆、两个多功能体育馆、健身房、健身工作室、五人制足球场、网球场、水上运动中心和国家射箭训练中心。

国务高级部长孙雪玲（同时也是榜鹅集选区议员）在社交媒体上发布的一段视频中表示：“我知道榜鹅居民今年都非常期待这个（体育中心）。”

该项目于 2020 年开始建设，原计划于 2023 年开放，但受新冠疫情影响，开放时间推迟到今年。

榜鹅体育中心将于11月22日正式开放。
