KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 — Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has revealed she narrowly escaped broken teeth and a split lip after a nasty rehearsal fall left her face bruised and injured.

The 47-year-old singer said she was counting her blessings after the accident, which saw her fall face-first onto the floor while preparing for her Konsert Tradisional Gema Bumantara earlier this month.

Although her injuries are healing, Siti revealed that some bruising remains and the affected tissue on her face still feels unusually hard.

“Alhamdulillah, my face is gradually recovering. The bruises are almost gone, but because I have sensitive skin, blue bruises like these take a long time to disappear.

“My facial tissue still feels quite hard, possibly due to the impact of the fall. I need to massage the area to help with the recovery,” she told mStar , The Star ’s Malay-language portal.

The singer said she went straight to hospital for a CT scan following the mishap, but was relieved when doctors ruled out fractures and internal bleeding.

“After I fell, I went straight to the hospital for a CT scan. Alhamdulillah, there were no fractures or internal bleeding. The doctor did tell me that the bruises would take time to fade and that the tissue on my face had been injured,” she said.

Siti was speaking to reporters at the Majlis Tahlil Tun Hasmah event at Yayasan Kepimpinan Perdana in Putrajaya yesterday.

The accident happened during rehearsals for her October 17 concert, when a stunt involving a long piece of fabric went painfully wrong.

Footage of the incident showed the singer attempting a jump using the fabric as a prop before her foot became caught, sending her tumbling face-first onto the floor.

She suffered small cuts near the outer corner of her eye and beneath it, along with bruising on her right cheek.

But Siti said things could have been far worse had she landed differently.

“Alhamdulillah, Allah was still protecting me. I am thankful that I did not fall forward. If I had, my teeth could have broken, my lips could have split, and everything would have taken even longer to heal,” she said.

Despite the frightening mishap, the veteran performer went on to sing at her concert, with the injuries failing to derail the show.

“Alhamdulillah, I was still able to sing and complete my concert. I am grateful to Allah. This was the first time I had fallen during a concert,” she said.

Siti, who previously shared a photograph of her bruised face on Instagram Stories, said she was thankful that the concert went ahead successfully despite the scare.

“I am grateful that even though I fell, Allah protected me. Alhamdulillah, the concert was also a great success,” she added.
