KUCHING, Oct 30 — An Indonesian woman was fined RM4,000 in default six months in jail by the Magistrates’ Court here for soliciting sexual services from an undercover policeman for RM100.

Magistrate Nureina Syafika Mohd Najib imposed the sentence against Pita, 37, after she pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 372B of the Penal Code.

According to the charge, Pita committed the offence at a beauty and health centre on Jalan Batu Kawa here at around 5pm on October 27.

Based on the facts of the case, police conducted an inspection at the premises to detect prostitution activities following information received from an undercover police agent, who had been instructed to carry out the operation.

During the inspection of an unnumbered room, police found Pita with the undercover agent and arrested her for further action.

Items seized to assist for the investigation included a bottle of massage oil, an unused condom, a packet of wet wipes, and RM100.

Investigations found that Pita had offered sexual services to the undercover agent for a cash payment of RM100.

Pita also pleaded guilty to an immigration offence for being in Malaysia without a valid pass, under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.

Judge Mursyida Abd Halim sentenced her to four months in prison, effective October 30 and ordered that she be deported to her home country upon completion of her sentence.

The two charges were prosecuted separately by deputy public prosecutors Ahmad Fauzulutfi Suriani and Marvind Kaliyani.
