Rural, urban or both? PM’s pol sec Azman Abidin says Paya Rumput needs a bit of everything

MELAKA, Oct 31 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Paya Rumput state seat, Datuk Azman Abidin, is banking on his extensive experience and close ties with the federal government to better serve the constituency.

Speaking after submitting his nomination papers at Stadium Hang Jebat here today, he said Paya Rumput’s semi-urban setting required a comprehensive approach to address the needs of both rural and urban communities.

“I can offer my experience to assist residents, facilitate their affairs and address their needs.

“My experience serving alongside the prime minister, as well as my ties with the federal government, can be put to good use in addressing the issues faced by Paya Rumput residents,” he told reporters.

The prime minister’s political secretary said he did not underestimate any of his opponents, noting that every candidate had their own strengths.

His main focus during the campaign would be to reach as many voters as possible and explain the services and welfare initiatives he could offer.

Azman, 54, who holds a Professional Master of Business Administration (PMBA) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), expressed confidence in voters’ openness to change.

He will be challenged by Rafie Ahmad of Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Abdul Rashid Abu Bakar of Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama).

Polling day is set for November 14, while early voting will take place on November 10.

马六甲，10月31日讯——希望联盟（PH）巴耶伦布州议席候选人拿督阿兹曼·阿比丁表示，他将凭借其丰富的经验和与联邦政府的密切关系，更好地为选区服务。

今天，他在汉惹拔体育场递交提名文件后发表讲话，称巴耶鲁布的半城市化环境需要采取综合措施来满足农村和城市社区的需求。

“我可以提供我的经验来帮助居民，协助他们处理事务，满足他们的需求。”

他告诉记者：“我曾与总理共事，也与联邦政府保持着密切联系，这些经验和联系可以很好地用于解决巴耶鲁布居民面临的问题。”

首相的政治秘书表示，他没有低估任何对手，并指出每位候选人都有自己的优势。

他在竞选期间的主要目标是尽可能多地接触选民，并向他们解释他能够提供的服务和福利举措。

现年 54 岁的阿兹曼拥有马来西亚工艺大学 (UTM) 的专业工商管理硕士 (PMBA) 学位，他对选民乐于接受改变表示有信心。

他将受到国民联盟（PN）的拉菲艾哈迈德和马来西亚团结党（Bersama）的阿都拉昔阿布巴卡的挑战。

投票日定于11月14日，提前投票将于11月10日举行。
