Millions of voters will cast their ballots Tuesday in an election that will decide the balance of power in Congress and set the tone for President Donald Trump’s remaining two years in the White House.
Democrats and Republicans are battling in tight contests across the country, while the governor’s office in some states is up for grabs.
To help you make sense of these crucial races, CNN is offering on-the-ground reporting, in-depth analysis and interactive experiences across all platforms. Here’s how you can access CNN’s coverage.
As John King stands in front of the Magic Wall on election night and breaks down the races, you can navigate along with CNN’s digital offering.
You’ll have the Magic Wall at your fingertips on the CNN app and CNN.com , where you can follow races across the country with an interactive map that allows you to zoom in as far as the county level.
On the app, subscribers will have access to historical data that will allow them to compare results to past election cycles. You can also turn on real-time notifications for key races.
Meanwhile, on the website, you can track when polls close and follow the results of ballot measures and local races. Voter polls will also be available to give insight into how Americans of different demographics are voting.
As results start to roll in, it can be difficult to understand what those numbers might be saying about who will ultimately win a key race.
CNN Sightline, a new election tool designed to surface insights from CNN’s Decision Desk, can translate those results into an understandable, real-time read on what’s happening and who is favored to win.
CNN's Jennifer Agiesta takes you behind the scenes of CNN's Decision Desk ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
The tool interprets election data through modeling and assessments based on the questions that CNN’s Decision Desk analysts consider as they’re assessing the state of each major race: Where did the votes come from? How do they compare with past elections and pre-election expectations? How much statistical confidence do we have in our estimates? Were they Election Day, by-mail or early in-person votes? And what do we know about what’s left to count?
Sightline brings together the results of a range of estimates meant to answer each of those questions, shows how the CNN Decision Desk interprets those questions at any given moment, and produces an overall rating on whether a race leans toward either candidate.
CNN is offering around-the-clock, live updates to get you up to speed on what’s going on across the country as our correspondents share real-time reporting from the ground.
The live updates will feature photos and videos as our reporters talk to voters outside polling sites and with candidates as they make their final pitches. CNN will also get you up to speed on any voting issues, legal challenges and reactions from top lawmakers. Regular catch-up posts will be available so you can quickly scan the top stories.
You will immediately know when polls close, when CNN makes a projection on a key race and when candidates make their victory or concession speeches.
And as results begin to trickle in, our journalists will provide live commentary and in-depth analysis, using their expertise to give you key context on the night’s biggest moments.
CNN’s streaming platform, All Access , will offer 12 hours of live and unedited content on Election Day starting at 7 a.m. ET that will give subscribers a behind-the-scenes look at what our reporters are doing on the ground.
In the evening, subscribers will have access to campaign headquarters. Our correspondents will bring you a live look at how the candidates and their supporters are awaiting results and their reaction when the race is called.
CNN’s John Berman and Harry Enten will also host Office Hours starting at 7 p.m. ET to answer questions at the top of subscribers’ minds as the night unfolds.
CNN will also bring you all the key updates and context on air throughout the day, with election coverage beginning at 12 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
Election Night in America special coverage will begin at 4 p.m. ET, and Anderson Cooper and Jake Tapper will co-anchor from Washington, DC, with expert analysis from Dana Bash, Kaitlan Collins, Erin Burnett and others.
