A 14-year-old boy allegedly behaved inappropriately with a 9-year-old girl in Bukit Batok Central on Aug 28.
A video of a resident confronting the boy was posted on the Instagram account sgfollowsall on Thursday (Sept 3).
The girl's parent, who shared the video and pictures on Instagram, wrote in the post that her daughter was on the way home from tuition when she was allegedly approached by the teenager.
The boy allegedly asked for her daughter's name and whether she wanted to "do something fun".
He then allegedly coaxed her into following him up a staircase at a nearby block, where he allegedly behaved sexually inappropriately and asked her to search for obscene videos on her phone.
The parent added that a resident, who was collecting his parcel, noticed something was amiss between the two and saw that the girl was distressed.
He intervened and called the police.
The video posted on Instagram was taken by the resident as he interrogated the boy regarding the alleged incident.
In the video, the resident asked for the boy's name and confirmed that he did not know the girl.
"What were you trying to do with this little girl?" questioned the resident.
The boy denies the allegations and claims that he did not know what the resident was talking about.
In another Instagram post on sgfollowsall on Thursday, police officers can be seen gathered around a lift lobby.
The post also includes a picture of a boy standing outside a residential unit and an officer speaking to a girl.
The Instagram post with the pictures of police officers as well as the boy and girl respectively has amassed over 9,000 likes, while the video of the resident confronting the boy has about 150,000 views as at Thursday afternoon.
Some netizens have commended the resident for "being alert" and stepping in, while others lamented "what is wrong with kids these days".
Responding to AsiaOne's queries, the police confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.

针对AsiaOne的询问，警方证实已接到报案，调查正在进行中。
