KOTA BHARU, Nov 2 — The Kelantan government allocated more than RM10.86 million for house repair works and the provision of building materials to poor and underprivileged households in the state in 2024 and 2025.

Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud said a total of 1,034 assistance packages were provided during the period under the Dhuafa’ Housing Assistance programme implemented by the Kelantan State Development Office.

He said of the total, 473 assistance packages were provided in 2024, involving an expenditure of RM5.04 million, while 561 were channelled in 2025, involving an allocation of RM5.811 million.

“The assistance covers house repair works and the provision of building materials, based on the needs and extent of damage to the homes of eligible recipients,” he said.

He said this in reply to a question from Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani (BN-Nenggiri) during the state assembly sitting at the Kota Darulnaim Complex here today.

Elaborating further, Mohd Nassuruddin said the selection of aid recipients was carried out through an application, investigation and verification process by the Land and District offices, subject to eligibility requirements and the availability of funds.

In addition to house repair assistance and contributions of building materials, the state government also provides 180 new houses annually throughout Kelantan under the same programme.

“Each house is valued at RM65,000, with a total allocation of approximately RM11.7 million annually. Insya-Allah, we will be able to assist more people in need,” he said. — Bernama
