KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s palm oil stockpiles likely expanded to a fresh record last month as elevated production outweighed a surge in exports, according to a Bloomberg survey ahead of official data next week.

Inventories swelled by about 7% to 3.76 million tonnes in October, according to the median of 11 estimates in a Bloomberg survey of plantation executives, traders and analysts. That would surpass September’s record and put stockpiles around 50% higher than the same period last year.
