特朗普语气缓和,称他“完全愿意”接受中期选举结果

US President Donald Trump has indicated his willingness to accept the results of the midterm elections, where early figures suggest a significant Democratic victory over the Republican Party in Congress.

In an interview with The New York Times, Trump expressed openness to working with Democrats, marking a departure from his previous attempts to question the election's fairness.

This conciliatory stance aims to alleviate concerns about his potential refusal to acknowledge defeat.

WASHINGTON, Nov 4 — US President Donald Trump said he will accept the results of the midterm elections where incoming figures indicate a Democratic wipe-out of his Republican Party in Congress.

“I am absolutely willing to accept those results,” he told The New York Times.

“We’ll work with the Democrats, and we’ll, you know, look forward to working with them. We’ll probably work something out.”

The conciliatory remarks came after repeated attempts by Trump to cast doubt over the fairness of the elections, adding to fears that he would refuse to accept defeat. — AFP
