Haj package prices for the 900 prospective pilgrims in 2027 will be up to 30 per cent cheaper than last year , with more authorised travel agents and packages to choose from.

The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) announced in a press release on Thursday (Nov 5) that it has appointed 10 authorised travel agents offering 37 approved haj packages.

This is an increase from the nine agents and 25 approved haj packages in 2026 .

These packages — ranging from double to quad-occupancy — are priced between $13,864 and $21,199, for stays of 18, 23, 25 or 28-day stays.

Compared with package prices in 2026, which ranged from $14,190 to $29,895, this year's ceiling price is almost 30 per cent lower.

The average package price for 2027 is $16,734 for quad occupancy, $17,231 for triple occupancy, and $18,094 for double occupancy — down from an average of $19,154 for double occupancy in 2026.

MUIS said the introduction of an 18-day package, as the shortest available option, recognises that some pilgrims may have family, work or personal commitments that make an extended absence challenging.

"This offers greater flexibility for pilgrims to fulfil their religious obligation while balancing their personal responsibilities and circumstances, making haj more accessible to a wider segment of the community," MUIS added.

To help manage overall costs and facilitate better coordination across Madinah, Makkah and Jeddah, Muis and the Association of Muslim Travel Agents Singapore (AMTAS) have agreed for pilgrims across all packages to be accommodated in designated common hotels.

The quoted package prices include accommodation, essential on-ground Mashaer services and medical services in the Holy Lands, provided by the Singapore Pilgrims’ Affairs Office (SPAO) . However, they do not include direct airfare on Saudia Airlines and Emergency Medical Assistance (EMA) coverage arranged by AMTAS .

Checks across airlines indicate that a typical economy-class airfare costs around $3,300, before applicable taxes, while EMA coverage costs $295.

Pilgrims are advised to consider additional travel insurance, especially for pre-existing medical conditions and other circumstances that may fall outside the scope of EMA coverage.

MUIS also urged prospective pilgrims not to engage unauthorised individuals or travel agents offering haj packages or related services.

Haj packages and services for Singapore pilgrims under Singapore’s official haj arrangements should only be purchased from MUIS-authorised travel agents.

The 900 prospective pilgrims for the 2027 haj will be issued with letters of offer from MUIS. Selected pilgrims will be notified via SMS and email from Nov 16 onwards.

Upon receiving the notification, prospective pilgrims must log in to the MyHajSG portal to retrieve their offer letter, purchase an approved package from an authorised agent, and complete mandatory portal procedures by Nov 30.

Members of the public are reminded that Government officials will never ask for anyone to disclose personal banking details or ask for transfers of monies.
