SYDNEY, Sept 9 (Reuters) - Australia coach Tony Popovic has revealed that he turned down a contract extension that would have kept him in the job until the 2030 World Cup, preferring to sign a deal only until the end of next year's Asian Cup.
The Socceroos reached the knockout stages of this year's World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico before exiting on penalties at the hands of Egypt in the Round of 32.
