Amazon Prime Video uses AI for lip-synced translations

Amazon Prime Video is using artificial intelligence (AI) to change actors’ lip movements in alternate-language versions of its shows.

As of Sept 9, subscribers in the US have the option to view “Lip sync for English Dub” versions of Seasons 1 and 2 of Maxton Hall, a popular German soap opera. Viewers who choose this option are shown a version of the show in which the original German dialogue has been dubbed into English – and in which the actors’ lips have been digitally altered to approximate the appropriate movements.

亚马逊 Prime Video 正在使用人工智能 (AI) 来改变其节目其他语言版本中演员的唇部动作。

自9月9日起，美国用户可以选择观看热门德国肥皂剧《麦克斯顿庄园》第一季和第二季的“英语配音唇形同步”版本。选择此选项的观众将看到一个版本，其中原有的德语对白已被配音成英语，演员的嘴唇也经过数字处理，以尽可能地贴合相应的动作。
