PM Anwar heads to India for BRICS summit, bilateral talks with world leaders

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has embarked on a diplomatic journey to New Delhi for the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit, where he plans to engage in bilateral discussions with leaders from India, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Ethiopia.

His visit also includes a trip to Keralam to meet the Grand Mufti of India for discussions on community development and religious affairs.

Following the summit, Anwar will visit Malé, Maldives, at the invitation of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, with intentions of fostering beneficial outcomes for Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 — After concluding his working visit to Sabah today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim departed for New Delhi to attend the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit, where he is also scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings.

In a Facebook post, Anwar said he was scheduled to meet the Prime Minister of India, as well as the presidents of Russia, Iran and Kazakhstan and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

“My delegation and I have departed for New Delhi, India to attend the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit.

“My itinerary in India also includes a visit to Keralam to meet the Grand Mufti of India to exchange views on community development, education and religious affairs,” he said.

After completing his diplomatic mission in India, Anwar will proceed to Malé, Maldives for an official visit at the invitation of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

“我的印度之行还包括访问喀拉拉邦，会见印度大穆夫提，就社区发展、教育和宗教事务交换意见，”他说。

完成在印度的外交使命后，安瓦尔将应马尔代夫总统穆罕默德·穆伊祖博士的邀请，前往马尔代夫首都马累进行正式访问。
