Swiss police report five killed in Dutch tour bus crash

Five people have been killed and 40 injured in a bus crash in a remote Alpine region of eastern Switzerland, police reported.

Police announced the casualties on Friday, the day after the bus, carrying 45 Dutch tourists, overturned and landed in a construction zone near the village of Susch.

Three of the injured were reported to be in serious condition, with seven moderately hurt and the remaining 30 described as having minor injuries, according to a statement by police in the canton of Grisons.

Seven rescue helicopters and 13 ambulance crews ferried the casualties to hospital. The dead have yet to be identified. Police said they are investigating what caused the crash.

Swiss President Guy Parmelin posted on social media that he was “deeply shocked and dismayed” and offered his “sincere condolences” to the families of the victims.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands also sent their condolences.

“Our hearts go out to the bereaved, to everyone currently fearing for the fate of their loved ones and to the injured. We stand with you in this great tragedy,” they wrote on social media.

警方报告称，瑞士东部偏远阿尔卑斯山区发生一起巴士事故，造成5人死亡，40人受伤。

据格里松州警方声明，伤者中有三人伤势严重，七人中度受伤，其余 30 人受轻伤。

七架救援直升机和十三辆救护车将伤者送往医院。遇难者身份尚未确认。警方表示正在调查事故原因。

瑞士总统盖伊·帕尔梅林在社交媒体上发帖称，他对此“深感震惊和悲痛”，并向遇难者家属表示“诚挚的慰问”。

荷兰国王威廉-亚历山大和王后马克西玛也发来了慰问。

“我们向遇难者家属、所有担忧亲人安危的人们以及伤者致以最深切的慰问。在这场巨大的悲剧中，我们与你们同在。”他们在社交媒体上写道。
