A 39-year-old man is assisting with ongoing police investigation after his car skidded and crashed onto a roadside verge in Woodlands on Friday (Sept 11) afternoon.
The incident happened at the junction of Woodlands Street 11 and Woodlands Street 13 at about 4.25pm, just after moderate to heavy thunderstorms swept across several parts of Singapore, including Woodlands.
A photograph of the incident shared to a motoring chatgroup shows the grey Hyundai saloon car mounted up the roadside verge, stopping just over a metre away from a staircase behind.
The car's airbags are seen deployed and its bonnet badly damaged.
A traffic light located beside the Woodlands Street 13 street sign is presumably knocked over as it is not seen in the picture.
In response to AsiaOne's queries, the police stated that the car is believed to have skidded at the junction.
They added that the male driver sustained minor injuries but refused to be taken to the hospital.
He is assisting with ongoing police investigations.

一张分享到汽车聊天群的事故照片显示，这辆灰色现代轿车冲上了路边的路肩，停在距离后面楼梯仅一米多一点的地方。
可以看到汽车的安全气囊已经弹出，引擎盖严重损坏。
图片中没有显示位于伍德兰街 13 号路牌旁边的交通信号灯，因此推测该信号灯已被撞倒。
针对AsiaOne的询问，警方表示，据信该车辆在路口打滑。
他们补充说，男性司机受了轻伤，但拒绝被送往医院。
他正在协助警方进行调查。
