Cursed moments on public buses: Man watches explicit content, woman files feet

No matter how comfortable public transport gets, a bus is not your home.

These people, however, did not get the memo.

Man watches porn on his phone

On Friday (Sept 11), Sgfollowsall shared a video of an older man nonchalantly watching pornography on his phone while travelling in a bus.

The original poster (OP) who shared it with the account was amused by the incident, writing: "Hi, I got video of an uncle on the bus watching porn, hahaha."

Some netizens were also amused.

"Nowadays, data is cheap and uncle has so much free time," a commenter joked.

Another wrote in jest: "He has a lot to watch. Not enough time, must watch on the bus."

Despite the levity, watching explicit content in public can result in serious consequences.

Back in 2023, a 65-year-old man was arrested for public nuisance after doing the same on a bus and allegedly harassing a couple who called him out on his behaviour.

When the couple informed the bus captain, he reportedly immediately stopped the bus and made a police report.

The owner of a nearby mobile phone shop added that the bus captain also asked to borrow an ejector tool, likely to retrieve the memory card from the elderly man's phone for the police investigation.

Woman files her feet

Another now-deleted video posted on the Complaint Singapore Facebook group shows an elderly woman using a callus file on her feet while sitting on the bus.

According to the Land Transport Authority website, passengers are not allowed to engage in personal grooming while on buses, as part of maintaining public health and cleanliness on board public buses.

Bus captains are allowed to instruct passengers to comply immediately or tell them to alight without a fare refund if they see non-compliance with these conditions.

They can also stop operating the bus until the non-compliant passenger leaves, or request police assistance while the bus is stopped.

Signs have shown up recently at MRT stations, asking people to not groom in public , and perhaps similar reminders are needed for buses.

Netizens concurred with the signs, with one writing: "Anyone who knows social etiquette and consideration for others will never cut nails or comb hair in public transport!

"No one wants to have other people's disgusting nail clippings and hair fly into their face, body or bags!"

However, some thought that the sign, which showed one character curling their eyelashes and another clipping their toenails, went too far with the inclusion of the former.

"Putting makeup is okay as long as you're not [inconveniencing] others," commented one user. "Cutting nails in train is inappropriate."

Another wrote: "Have we become such a no-joy robot nation that one can't even apply lipstick in public?"

男子用手机看色情片

另一位网友开玩笑地写道：“他有很多东西要看。时间不够，只能在公交车上看了。”

尽管观看露骨内容看似轻松，但在公共场合观看此类内容可能会导致严重的后果。

早在 2023 年，一名 65 岁的男子就因在公交车上做出同样行为而被捕，罪名是扰乱公共秩序，据称他还骚扰了一对指出他行为不当的夫妇。

据报道，这对夫妇告知巴士司机后，司机立即停车并向警方报案。

附近一家手机店的老板补充说，公交车司机还要求借用一个取卡器，可能是为了从老人的手机中取出存储卡，供警方调查。

另一段现已被删除的视频发布在“新加坡投诉”Facebook 群组中，视频显示一位老妇人在公交车上坐着时用磨脚器磨脚。

根据陆路交通管理局网站的信息，为维护公共汽车上的公共卫生和清洁，乘客在公交车上不允许进行个人卫生护理。

如果公交车司机发现乘客不遵守这些规定，可以指示乘客立即遵守规定，或者让乘客下车且不退还车费。

他们还可以停止公交车的运营，直到不配合的乘客下车，或者在公交车停驶期间请求警方协助。

最近地铁站出现了告示，要求人们不要在公共场合梳妆打扮，或许公交车上也需要类似的提醒。
