FDS crash: Dr Ainul’s husband thanks all, calls nationwide support a ‘blessing’

Muhammad Faiz Abdul Malik, husband of the late Dr. Ainul Baraah Kamarudin, expressed gratitude for the support and prayers received from various levels of government and the public following his wife's tragic death in a helicopter crash.

He highlighted the smooth facilitation of arrangements in Sarawak, despite initial uncertainties, and appreciated the nationwide support his family received.

Dr. Ainul Baraah was among five victims of the Flying Doctor Service helicopter crash in Baram, laid to rest at the Sri Kedeper Muslim Cemetery after funeral prayers in Kelantan.

KOTA BHARU, Sept 13 — The husband of helicopter crash victim Dr Ainul Baraah Kamarudin has expressed his appreciation to all those who assisted with and prayed for the smooth handling of his wife’s remains.

Muhammad Faiz Abdul Malik, 37, said the support from the federal, Sarawak and Kelantan governments had greatly helped facilitate arrangements concerning his late wife, including throughout his time in Sarawak.

“Fate has taken its course, but Alhamdulillah , everything was made easier. I received support from everyone, both friends and people who did not know me.

“For me, that was a blessing for the deceased, as she received the support and prayers of Malaysians nationwide. Thank you to everyone, including the media,” he told reporters when met at Masjid Al Karomah Mukim Baung Besar, Pengkalan Chepa, here today.

He said arrangements in Sarawak had proceeded smoothly although they took some time, with some uncertainty surrounding the information available in the initial stages.

“However, it was all right because everything was completed earlier than expected, including the identification process and DNA testing.

“I accept what has happened, but there are times when memories and thoughts of her come back to me,” he said, his voice breaking with emotion.

Dr Ainul Baraah, 33, was laid to rest at the Sri Kedeper Muslim Cemetery at 2.20pm today following funeral prayers at Masjid Al Karomah Mukim Baung Besar, Pengkalan Chepa.
