Abdul Aziz appointed Deputy Inspector‑General of Police

Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid has been appointed Deputy Inspector-General of Police, effective 9th September, with consent from the King of Malaysia.

Abdul Aziz, with expertise in policing and leadership, joined the Royal Malaysia Police in 1995, serving in various departments and key positions.

He holds a Master's degree in Police Studies and has attended international courses, enhancing his qualifications for his new role.

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 14 — Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Management Director Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid has been appointed Deputy Inspector-General of Police, effective September 9.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the appointment was consented to by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, on the advice of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and upon the recommendation of the Police Force Commission, in accordance with Clauses 4 and 5 of Article 140 of the Federal Constitution.

“Abdul Aziz’s expertise and experience in policing, coupled with his strong leadership and competence, make him well suited to serve as Deputy Inspector-General of Police.

“The government congratulates him on his appointment,” he said in a statement today.

Abdul Aziz, 59, was born in Penaga, Penang, on February 19, 1967, and holds a Master of Social Sciences (Police Studies) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

He joined the PDRM on July 1, 1995, and has served in various departments throughout his career, including the Management Department, Special Branch, Criminal Investigation Department, Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department, Commercial Crime Investigation Department, Logistics and Technology Department, and Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department.

Abdul Aziz has held several key positions, including Management Director, Deputy Director of Special Branch, Deputy Director of Narcotics, Penang Police Deputy Chief, Principal Assistant Director of Management Policy/Human Resource, and Principal Assistant Director of the Special Integrated Investigation Team.

He has also attended various international courses and seminars, including the 8th International Symposium of Best Police Practice in Dubai, and the Intelligence Management Development Programme in Australia. — Bernama

拿督斯里阿卜杜勒·阿齐兹·阿卜杜勒·马吉德已被任命为副警察总长，自9月9日起生效，该任命已获得马来西亚国王的同意。

阿卜杜勒·阿齐兹拥有丰富的警务和领导经验，于 1995 年加入马来西亚皇家警察部队，曾在多个部门和重要职位上任职。

内政部长拿督斯里赛夫丁·纳苏蒂安·伊斯梅尔表示，根据联邦宪法第140条第4款和第5款的规定，在首相拿督斯里安华·易卜拉欣的建议和警察部队委员会的推荐下，马来西亚最高元首苏丹易卜拉欣陛下同意了这项任命。

他于 1995 年 7 月 1 日加入马来西亚皇家警察部队，在其职业生涯中曾在多个部门任职，包括管理部门、特别部门、刑事调查部门、毒品刑事调查部门、商业犯罪调查部门、后勤和技术部门以及犯罪预防和社区安全部门。

阿卜杜勒·阿齐兹曾担任过多个重要职位，包括管理总监、特别部门副总监、缉毒部门副总监、槟城警察副总长、管理政策/人力资源首席助理总监和特别综合调查组首席助理总监。

他还参加过各种国际课程和研讨会，包括在迪拜举行的第八届国际最佳警务实践研讨会和在澳大利亚举行的情报管理发展计划。——马新社
