A mother was alarmed after a man allegedly offered her toddler a "half-eaten" steamed bun, or pau while they were travelling on an MRT train.
In a TikTok post shared on Saturday (Sept 12), user yantilala95 said she only realised what was happening when the food was already in front of her son's mouth.
She said she immediately screamed and pulled her son, Khalis, closer to her.
In the video, the man can be seen sat on the carriage floor and presumably eating the pau next to the toddler, who is inside a stroller.
"When a stranger (a foreigner) has absolutely no care in the world about the rules and casually sits on the MRT floor while eating his bao," the mother alleged.
The woman questioned why the man thought it was acceptable to offer food to a child he did not know, particularly when the food had already been partially eaten.
She also raised concerns about the food's origins and ingredients, and whether it was halal.
"Half eaten pau? Ew your saliva is already on the bao and you want to feed my son?" she wrote.
While she said she did not mind strangers showing affection towards her children, she felt that offering them food was a different matter.
"We shouldn't normalise feeding strangers' child," she captioned the video.
Under Section 14(a) of Singapore's Rapid Transit Systems Regulations, passengers are prohibited from consuming or attempting to consume food or drinks on railway premises, except in designated areas.

根据新加坡《快速交通系统条例》第 14(a) 条，除指定区域外，乘客不得在铁路场所内食用或试图食用食物或饮料。
