Fuel prices in Singapore rose for a second consecutive day on Tuesday (Sept 15), as Sinopec matched the price increases posted by Shell, Caltex and Esso a day earlier.
On Tuesday afternoon, Shell raised its posted fuel prices again, marking its second increase in just over 24 hours.
China-owned Sinopec kicked off the latest round of price adjustments on Tuesday morning, posting an 8-cent increase across all its fuel offerings, mirroring increments implemented by Shell and Esso on Monday .
At 1pm, Shell announced via a price board update that it had raised its posted prices for its 95-, 98-octane petrol, V-Power and diesel by a further 4 cents per litre.
This brings Shell's total increase over about 25 hours to 12 cents per litre for every type of fuel at its pumps.
It also brings the price of 98-octane petrol across the $4 mark again — a 24-month high it has set twice — in April 13 and May 18 this year.
Following the latest round of price hikes, the price of the more popular 95-octane petrol now ranges from $3.36 at SPC to $3.49 at Shell.
At the time of this article's publication, only SPC has not posted any adjustment to its fuel prices.

Meanwhile, Brent oil futures rose to US$106.40 a barrel (S$135.39) at 8.30pm on Tuesday, slightly lower than the US$106.93 at 8.13am the same morning.
This comes as Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen launched fresh attacks on Saudi Arabia on Monday, while Gulf Arab states postponed planned discussions with Iran , fuelling concerns that the Middle East conflict could widen and disrupt global oil supplies.
Saudi Arabia earlier announced that it had shut down its East-West pipeline as a precaution, after the vital oil conduit came under a drone attack.
The 1,200-km (745-mile) pipeline running across the Arabian Peninsula has served as the main route out for global supplies of Middle East oil for the past six months while the Strait of Hormuz has been largely shut by war.
It has been moving 4 million to 5 million barrels per day, amounting to 4 per cent to 5 per cent of global supply, sparing Saudi Arabia the brunt of the disruption that has crippled other Gulf oil and gas exporters.
