Anwar: Malaysia won’t be transit point for shipments supporting Israel’s military, suspicious cargo will be inspected

In a recent statement, Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed the country's firm position against being a transit point for cargo supporting Israel's military operations.

He emphasized Malaysia's commitment to not facilitate any shipments contributing to military aggression or harming innocent lives.

Anwar highlighted that suspicious shipments would undergo inspection and investigation under Malaysian law, with decisive action taken against any violations.

This statement coincides with increased scrutiny of shipments bound for Israel.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday reaffirmed Malaysia’s firm stance against allowing the country to be used as a transit point for any cargo contributing to Israel’s military operations.

In a statement posted on his X account, Anwar stressed that Malaysia remains committed to preventing the country from being used to support military aggression or acts against innocent lives.

“Malaysia’s position is clear and unequivocal. We will not allow our country to be used as a conduit for any shipment that supports or contributes to Israel’s military capabilities and its atrocities against Palestinians and other innocent lives.

“Any suspicious shipment will be subject to inspection and investigation in accordance with Malaysian law. Where a violation is established, decisive action will be taken,” he said.
