Home Ministry vows to crush foreign worker fraud syndicates ‘at the root’

The Malaysian Home Ministry, led by Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, is aggressively targeting syndicates that manipulate the foreign worker system and falsify immigration documents.

A recent operation, Ops Serkap, resulted in the simultaneous raid of 11 premises in Kuala Lumpur, leading to the arrest of 30 foreign nationals, including key figures in the syndicates.

The confiscated items included fake employment passes and other fraudulent documents.

The Ministry emphasizes its commitment to tightening immigration controls to protect national security and the local job market, with zero tolerance for criminal activities.

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 16 — The Home Ministry (KDN) is determined to dismantle the operations of syndicates manipulating the foreign worker system and falsifying documents at the root, without any tolerance, said its Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

He said the Immigration Department (JIM) was no longer taking a defensive approach, but was instead acting aggressively to cripple the syndicates at their source.

“The KDN leadership is determined to dismantle this chain of fraud at the root without any tolerance. Throughout my tenure at the helm of KDN, we have proven that administrative power must be used boldly to safeguard national security,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Saifuddin Nasution said the firm action was demonstrated through swift and uncompromising enforcement by JIM in Ops Serkap on September 14, which saw 11 premises in the Jalan Chan Sow Lin commercial area in Kuala Lumpur raided simultaneously.

He said the operation led to the detention of 30 foreign nationals, including 11 suspected masterminds, comprising 10 men and one woman, all from Bangladesh, who were operating the premises.

A total of 19 foreign nationals, comprising 16 Bangladeshis, one Myanmar national and two Indonesians, were detained for various immigration offences.

During the operation, 18 laptops, 21 printers and scanners, three mobile phones and 10 Bangladeshi international passports were seized, along with printed copies of fake electronic Temporary Employment Visit Passes (e-PLKS) and fake police reports.

Saifuddin Nasution said the fake e-PLKS were sold for RM150 each, while the fake police reports were sold for RM70 each.

He said the syndicates’ activities not only undermined the immigration administration system but also posed a threat to public safety and created opportunities for illegal entry by foreigners.

He added that the Madani Government was committed to ensuring a clean immigration system, tightening controls at the country’s entry points and protecting the local job market from exploitation by illegal syndicates.

“Malaysia is not a playground for criminals. Any foreign party or Malaysian who tries to break the law, forge documents, or conduct illegal activities will be hunted down, arrested and brought to justice accordingly,” he added.

He said there would be no compromise with illegal syndicates and that KDN would continue to crack down on document forgers to safeguard the country’s sovereignty. — Bernama

他表示，移民局不再采取防御姿态，而是采取积极行动，从源头上削弱犯罪集团的力量。

“KDN领导层决心从根源上铲除这一欺诈链条，绝不容忍。在我担任KDN领导人期间，我们已经证明，必须大胆运用行政权力来维护国家安全，”他今天在Facebook上发帖说。

赛夫丁·纳苏蒂安表示，9月14日，JIM在“Ops Serkap”行动中迅速而毫不妥协地执行了执法行动，同时突击搜查了吉隆坡陈秀连路商业区的11处场所，这充分体现了其坚定的行动力。

他说，此次行动导致 30 名外国公民被拘留，其中包括 11 名涉嫌主谋，他们由 10 名男性和 1 名女性组成，全部来自孟加拉国，负责经营该场所。

共有 19 名外国公民因违反各种移民法而被拘留，其中包括 16 名孟加拉国人、1 名缅甸人和 2 名印度尼西亚人。

行动中，警方缴获了 18 台笔记本电脑、21 台打印机和扫描仪、3 部手机和 10 本孟加拉国国际护照，以及伪造的电子临时就业访问通行证 (e-PLKS) 打印件和伪造的警方报告。

赛夫丁·纳苏蒂安表示，伪造的电子PLKS卡每份售价150令吉，而伪造的警方报告每份售价70令吉。

他表示，这些犯罪团伙的活动不仅破坏了移民管理体系，而且对公共安全构成威胁，并为外国人非法入境创造了机会。

他还补充说，马达尼政府致力于确保移民系统的廉洁，加强对该国入境点的管控，并保护当地就业市场免受非法团伙的剥削。

“马来西亚不是犯罪分子的乐园。任何试图违法、伪造文件或进行非法活动的外国势力或马来西亚公民都将被追捕、逮捕并依法绳之以法。”他补充道。
