Man throws rock at Police Cantonment Complex glass door, shattering it

A 44-year-old man will be charged in court with vandalism on Thursday (Sept 17) after he allegedly threw a rock at a glass door at Police Cantonment Complex (PCC), shattering it.

Police said in a news release on Wednesday (Sept 16) evening that the incident took place at about 10.55pm on Tuesday.

They added that the man, who was believed to be intoxicated at the time of the alleged act, had thrown a half-kilogramme rock at the glass door of PCC's main entrance, causing it to shatter.

A photograph of the aftermath shared by the police shows the shattered door covered in spiderweb-like cracks.

Despite the extensive damage, the glass appeared to remain intact within its frame.

If found guilty of the offence of vandalism, the 44-year-old could be jailed for up to three years, fined up to $2,000, and receive up to eight strokes of the cane.

The police said they have "zero tolerance" for such acts of vandalism, adding that they will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law.

如果被判犯有破坏公物罪，这名 44 岁的男子可能被判处最高三年监禁、最高 2000 美元罚款，并处以最高八下鞭刑。

警方表示，他们对这类破坏行为“零容忍”，并补充说，对于那些公然藐视法律的人，他们将毫不犹豫地采取行动。
