A man was seen taking a speaker from a cupboard behind a shop counter in Bukit Batok, according to CCTV footage shared on TikTok.
The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday (Sept 16) at about 2pm at Bukit Batok Street 31.
In a TikTok video shared by mobile phone shop Top One Communication, the man can be seen standing by the counter of a shop and seemingly looking around.
He then opens a cupboard behind the counter and takes out a speaker.
The man proceeds to place the speaker into a plastic bag before looking around once more.
He is then seen holding the bag and walking away from the shop.
The video was captioned: "In Singapore, if you wanted it — you could have just say so — why did you have to steal it?"
In a separate TikTok post, the user identified the location of the incident as Bukit Batok Street 31.
The police confirmed to AsiaOne that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.
AsiaOne has also contacted the shop for comment.

男子将扬声器放进塑料袋里，然后再次环顾四周。
然后，人们看到他拿着袋子离开了商店。
视频标题是：“在新加坡，如果你想要什么，你完全可以直接说，为什么要去偷呢？”
在另一条 TikTok 帖子中，该用户确认事件发生地点为武吉巴督街 31 号。
警方向AsiaOne证实，他们已接到报案，目前正在进行调查。
