82 arrested, over $46,700 worth of drugs seized in CNB raids

The Central Narcotics Bureau arrested 82 suspected drug offenders and seized over $46,700 worth of drugs in a five-day operation across various locations.

Seized drugs included cannabis, methamphetamine, heroin, ketamine, Ecstasy, and LSD; investigations involved multiple arrests, including foreigners.

CNB emphasized strict enforcement against drug abuse and trafficking, warning business owners against facilitating drug activities, with ongoing investigations into all suspects.

SINGAPORE – The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested 82 suspected drug offenders and seized drugs estimated to be worth over $46,700 in a five-day islandwide operation.

The anti-drug raids took place from Sept 14 to 18 and covered a reas such as Ang Mo Kio, Macpherson, Geylang and Lavender, CNB said in a statement on Sept 18.

The drugs included about 1,151g of cannabis; 146g of methamphetamine, also known as ice; 45g of heroin; 9g of ketamine; four Ecstasy tablets; and two LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) stamps .

According to CNB, the heroin, Ice and cannabis confiscated could potentially feed the addiction of 270 abusers for a week.

Among those arrested are three foreigners suspected of committing drug offences.

One of them, a 40-year-old man , was arrested for suspected drug trafficking offences on Sept 15 near Lorong 12 Geylang .

Follow-up investigations led CNB officers to a hotel along Sims Avenue, where they then arrested a 43-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman .

Officers found a round 185g of cannabis, a small amount of Ice and Ecstasy , as well as several drug paraphernalia in the 43-year-old man’s hotel room.

They also searched the woman’s room on the same floor, where they found 15g of Ice and several drug paraphernalia.

The following day, CNB arrested another 13 men for suspected drug offences at a private residential building at Lorong 22 Geylang .

Eleven men – three Singaporeans and eight foreigners, aged between 20 and 53 – were arrested from eight rooms in the building.

Two others, foreigners aged 26 and 31, were arrested on the ground floor.

About 12g of Ice and several drug paraphernalia were seized from the premises. Preliminary investigations found that all 13 men were suspected to have consumed controlled drugs.

Investigations into the drug activities of all arrested suspects are ongoing, said CNB.

CNB “will actively pursue those who abuse or traffic drugs, and offenders will be dealt with firmly under the law”, said Deputy Assistant Commissioner Lim Sze Yuk .

“Business owners and operators who knowingly allow or facilitate drug activities on their premises should be under no illusion – CNB will investigate and take firm enforcement action against all persons involved, ” he added.

中央肃毒局在9月18日发表声明称，缉毒行动于9月14日至18日进行，涵盖了宏茂桥、麦波申、芽笼和劳明等地区。

这些毒品包括约 1,151 克大麻；146 克甲基苯丙胺（又称冰毒）；45 克海洛因；9 克氯胺酮；四片摇头丸；以及两张 LSD（麦角酸二乙酰胺）邮票。

据中央缉毒局称，缴获的海洛因、冰毒和大麻足以满足 270 名吸毒者一周的毒瘾。

被捕者中有三名外国人，他们涉嫌犯有毒品罪行。

其中一名男子，40岁，于9月15日在芽笼12巷附近因涉嫌贩毒被捕。

后续调查使中央肃毒局人员来到沈氏道的一家酒店，并在那里逮捕了一名 43 岁男子和一名 34 岁女子。

警方在一名 43 岁男子的酒店房间里发现了约 185 克大麻、少量冰毒和摇头丸，以及一些吸毒用具。

他们还搜查了该女子位于同一楼层的房间，在那里发现了 15 克冰毒和一些吸毒用具。

第二天，中央肃毒局在芽笼22巷的一栋私人住宅楼内，以涉嫌毒品犯罪逮捕了另外13名男子。

警方从该建筑物的八个房间内逮捕了 11 名男子，其中包括 3 名新加坡人和 8 名外国人，年龄介于 20 岁至 53 岁之间。

另有两名分别为 26 岁和 31 岁的外国人在一楼被捕。

警方在现场缴获了约12克冰毒和若干吸毒用具。初步调查显示，这13名男子均涉嫌吸食管制药物。

中央肃毒局表示，对所有被捕嫌疑人的毒品活动调查仍在进行中。

中央肃毒局副助理局长林思玉表示：“中央肃毒局将积极追查滥用或贩运毒品者，并将依法严惩违法者。”

“那些明知故犯、允许或协助在其场所进行毒品活动的商家和经营者应该明白，中央肃毒局将对所有涉案人员进行调查并采取严厉的执法行动，”他补充道。
