As of 9am today, 20 areas across Malaysia have reported unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings, with Kuching and IPD Serian in Sarawak showing the highest readings at 169.

Several regions in Sarawak, as well as areas in Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Melaka, and Sabah, are affected.

Meanwhile, 37 areas registered moderate air quality, and 10 areas reported good air quality.

The API categorizes air quality from good (0-50) to hazardous (301 and above).

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 — As of 9am today, 20 areas nationwide are recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings.

According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, Kuching and IPD Serian in Sarawak recorded the highest reading at 169.

Six other areas in the state also registered unhealthy API levels: Samarahan (163), Sri Aman (162), Sibu (159), Sarikei (152), Bintulu (135) and Kapit (118).

Two areas in Perak logged unhealthy readings: Seri Manjung (164) and Tanjung Malim (113).

Over in Selangor, the affected areas are Shah Alam (157), Petaling Jaya (139) and Johan Setia (113).

In addition, two areas in Kuala Lumpur registered unhealthy levels: Batu Muda (155) and Cheras (155), along with Putrajaya (154).

Unhealthy API readings were also recorded in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan (151); Larkin, Johor (139); Bukit Rambai, Melaka (111); and Tawau, Sabah (108).

Meanwhile, 37 areas recorded moderate readings, while another 10 areas registered good readings.

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 301 and above is hazardous. — Bernama

截至今天上午 9 点，马来西亚全国已有 20 个地区的空气污染指数 (API) 读数达到不健康水平，其中砂拉越的古晋和西连卫生局的读数最高，达到 169。

砂拉越的多个地区以及霹雳州、雪兰莪、吉隆坡、布城、森美兰、柔佛、马六甲和沙巴地区均受到影响。

与此同时，37个地区的空气质量为中等，10个地区的空气质量为良好。

美国空气质量协会 (API) 将空气质量分为良好 (0-50) 到有害 (301 及以上) 等等级。

根据马来西亚空气污染指数管理系统（APIMS）门户网站的数据，砂拉越州古晋和西连公共卫生局的读数最高，为 169。

该州的其他六个地区也出现了不健康的API水平：三马拉汉（163）、斯里阿曼（162）、诗巫（159）、泗里街（152）、民都鲁（135）和加帛（118）。
