Nanyang Technological University (NTU) welcomed a scaly new "student" after a monitor lizard was spotted at one of its residential halls.
The monitor lizard was seen roaming around various parts of the dormitory in a video posted by TikTok user asslelelele on Thursday (Sept 17).
"I think the lizard wants aircon," teased the NTU student, identifying the place as Hall 8.
The video shows the monitor lizard peeking through a glass door into what appears to be a study room, where an unsuspecting student remained focused on revision.
The student also captured her scaly new dormmate climbing up a flight of stairs and seemingly appreciating a colourful stained-glass wall.
In her caption, the student highlighted that this was "a typical day in NTU", referring to the wildlife sightings on campus, from macaques to wild boars.
Netizens played along in the comments, joking about having seen the lizard around the campus.
NTU Hall 8's TikTok account commented: "Please respect our new resident's privacy."
One user commented: "Eh that's my project group mate...no wonder he [didn't] come for the meeting."
Another wrote that the lizard was "just tryna study".
The TikTok video has amassed 33,000 views in the past 24 hours with over 2,000 likes.
Hugging or wrestling? Monitor lizards at Sengkang
The sighting at NTU comes just a day after two monitor lizards were seen apparently hugging it out in Sengkang.
In a TikTok video posted by saralovesandwiches on Sept 15, the lizards were reportedly spotted at the Sengkang park connector outside Rivercove Residences condominium.
Sara Cher, 26, told MS News that she posted the video when she encountered the strange scene on Sept 15 at about 9.50am.
The video shows the two lizards upright with their forelimbs wrapped around each other's torsos, mimicking an embrace.
Cher captioned the video: "You and me."
Her video has gone viral, racking up over 3.2 million views, over 500,000 likes and more than 20,000 saves.
Some comments highlighted that both lizards appeared to be males and could be fighting to establish dominance.
When two monitor lizards appear to be "hugging" each other, they are actually "two males engaged in a wrestling match", according to the National Parks Board website.
The lizards could be competing for the attention of a female monitor lizard.

在南洋理工大学发现巨蜥的第二天，盛港也出现了两只巨蜥互相拥抱的景象。
9 月 15 日，TikTok 用户 saralovesandwiches 发布了一段视频，视频中有人在 Rivercove Residences 公寓外的盛港公园连道上发现了蜥蜴。
26 岁的 Sara Cher 告诉 MS News，她在 9 月 15 日上午 9 点 50 分左右遇到这一奇怪场景后，发布了这段视频。
视频显示，两只蜥蜴直立着，前肢缠绕在对方的躯干上，模仿着拥抱。
雪儿为这段视频配文：“你和我。”
她的视频迅速走红，获得了超过 320 万次观看、超过 50 万个赞和超过 2 万次收藏。
一些评论指出，这两只蜥蜴似乎都是雄性，它们可能正在争夺统治地位。
