Missing woman among two found dead in car in Durian Tunggal

A man and a woman, aged 31 and 33, were found dead in a car at Taman Inang Sari, Alor Gajah, around midnight.

Alor Gajah police reported no signs of foul play and identified the woman as reported missing on September 17.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem examinations, and the case is classified as sudden death.

ALOR GAJAH, Sept 20 — A man and a woman were found dead in a car at Taman Inang Sari, Durian Tunggal here around midnight last night.

Alor Gajah district police chief Supt Ahmad Abu Bakar said the bodies of the duo, aged 31 and 33, were discovered at 12.05am.

“A team of personnel dispatched to the scene found that both victims had died, while preliminary checks on the bodies found no elements of foul play, including robbery or signs of a struggle,” he told reporters.

Elaborating, Ahmad said police had earlier received a report on the woman’s disappearance lodged by her mother on September 17 after she could not be located.

He said, however, that police had not had time to take further action on the missing person report before receiving information about the discovery of the two individuals.

“Before the missing person case could be opened, we received information from members of the public about the discovery of the bodies.

“Initial checks found that the woman was the individual reported missing, while the man was believed to be her acquaintance,” he said.

He said based on the condition of the bodies, which had already begun to swell, both victims were believed to have died about three days ago.

“Checks found that both victims were residents of Melaka, with the woman being single. Her employer also informed police that she had not reported for work for the past three days.

The bodies of both victims have been sent to the Forensic Unit for post-mortem examinations to determine the cause of death, and the case has been classified as sudden death. — Bernama

他说：“初步调查发现，这名女子就是之前报道的失踪人员，而这名男子据信是她的熟人。”

他说，根据尸体的状况（尸体已经开始肿胀），推测两名遇难者大约在三天前死亡。

“经核实，两名受害者均为马六甲居民，其中女子单身。她的雇主也向警方报告称，她已经三天没有上班了。”
