Korea, US, Japan reaffirm commitment to N. Korea's complete denuclearization

NEW YORK — The top diplomats of South Korea, the United States and Japan reaffirmed their commitment to the complete denuclearization of North Korea on Monday and urged Pyongyang to return to dialogue.

South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi in New York, where the three issued a joint statement, according to Seoul's foreign ministry.

The three ministers reaffirmed that the path to dialogue with North Korea remains open and agreed to continue efforts to promote peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

They also stressed the importance of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and agreed to strengthen cooperation on global supply chains.
