Azalina: Anti‑Bullying Tribunal resolves five cases with awards, 55 complaints lodged since launch

The Anti-Bullying Tribunal (TAB) has handled 55 complaints, issuing decisions in five cases that include apologies, counseling participation, and compensation of RM2,000 in one instance, highlighting its focus on victim recovery and behavior correction over punishment.

Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said emphasized the importance of societal involvement in addressing bullying, urging victims and witnesses to speak up.

In support of this, the Anti-Bullying Act 2026 Literacy Programme was launched to educate the public, especially the youth, on available protections and procedures.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 — The Anti-Bullying Tribunal (TAB) has received 55 complaints, with five cases decided through awards as of Tuesday, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.

She said the awards included apologies to victims, participation in a counselling programme and RM2,000 in compensation in one case.

“This reflects TAB’s approach, which is not solely focused on punishment, but also emphasises victim recovery and correcting the perpetrator’s behaviour,” she said in a statement today.

Azalina said that, beyond the legal framework, efforts to address bullying also depended on society’s willingness to speak up and take action.

She said victims should come forward to seek help, while those who witness bullying should also have the courage to speak up, as bullying is not a joke and must not be normalised under any circumstances.

Meanwhile, she said that, in line with the Madani Government’s commitment to addressing bullying seriously and comprehensively, she launched the Anti-Bullying Act 2026 (Act 876) Literacy Programme and the Role of TAB at the Royal Military College (RMC), Sungai Besi, today.

The programme is part of the government’s efforts to enhance public understanding, particularly among the younger generation, of the protection available under Act 876 and the functions and role of TAB, including the procedure for lodging complaints, the hearing process and the remedies available to victims. — Bernama

与此同时，她表示，为了履行马达尼政府认真、全面解决欺凌问题的承诺，她今天在双溪贝西皇家军事学院启动了《2026 年反欺凌法》（第 876 号法令）扫盲计划和 TAB 的作用。
