T-bone crash involving SUV, car in Tanjong Pagar leaves driver trapped

One person was taken to hospital after a T-bone crash involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a car in Tanjong Pagar on Wednesday (Sept 23) evening.

The incident happened at about 7.35pm near the junction of Tras Street and Tras Link, near Oasia Hotel and Carlton City Hotel.

A video of the accident posted by TikTok user melicacy shows the front of a black SUV lodged in the driver's side of a car. The driver appears trapped in his seat, while the vehicle's airbags can be seen deployed.

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) firefighters are also seen attempting to access the driver through the rear passenger door.

"Several firefighters were on scene working to rescue passengers who were trapped inside the vehicle," the user wrote.

Nearby, an SCDF paramedic was seen attending to a man by the roadside.

In response to AsiaOne's queries, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force said a 65-year-old male car driver was taken conscious to Singapore General Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.

视频中还可以看到新加坡民防部队（SCDF）的消防员试图从后排乘客车门进入驾驶员所在的位置。

“多名消防员正在现场营救被困在车内的乘客，”该用户写道。

附近，有人看到一名新加坡民防部队医护人员正在路边救治一名男子。

针对 AsiaOne 的询问，警方和新加坡民防部队表示，一名 65 岁的男性汽车司机被送往新加坡中央医院时意识清醒。

警方调查仍在进行中。
